Cops ‘clear’ Laguna school after bomb scare
SAN PEDRO CITY – The police did not find any explosive in a school in Calauan town in Laguna province following a bomb threat on Tuesday morning that sent the students and teachers home.
Aileen de Mesa, a non-uniformed personnel from the Calauan police, said bomb experts had just finished inspecting Dayap Elementary School in Barangay Dayap past noon and found no explosive in its premises.
Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran, spokesperson of the Calabarzon police, said school principal Mylene Dimaculangan received a text message around 7 a.m. warning her that a bomb was
placed inside the school. The threat prompted school officials to cancel classes on Tuesday.
A team from the regional bomb squad unit that was sent to inspect the school declared it “clear,” de Mesa said.
