Classes were canceled at the Ateneo de Iloilo in Mandurriao, Iloilo, due to a bomb threat, dzMM Teleradyo reported Tuesday.

At 11 a.m., the school announced the suspension of classes and students were told to evacuate, which forced parents to fetch their children.

An official from an Iloilo mobile company received a call that a suspicious bag was abandoned near the school.

The city Public Safety and Traffic Management Office then ordered road blocks around the place to stop car from passing.

Iloilo City’s Explosive and Ordinance Division will investigate the incident. /cbb
