Macalintal says Trillanes can seek another TRO at SC

Lawyer Romulo Macalintal on Tuesday said Senator Antonio Trillanes IV may file another petition at the Supreme Court for a temporary restraining order and question President Rodrigo Duterte’s revocation of his amnesty.

“With the reported issuance of warrant of arrest vs Trillanes, he may now again go to the Supreme Court and ask for a TRO since the warrant was already issued which may render moot the issue of whether the amnesty could be revoked by the President without concurrence of Congress,” Macalintal told reporters in a text message.

Duterte ordered the revocation of Trillanes’ amnesty through Proclamation No. 572 last August 30.
