PDEA agents nab Canadian with 1 kilo marijuana in Dipolog City

PAGADIAN CITY — A team from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Zamboanga del Norte and Dipolog arrested a Canadian in a drug buy-bust operation Friday evening at Purok Parpagayo, Barangay Lower Dicayas, Dipolog City.

PDEA Regional Director Laurefel Gabales said a kilo of dried marijuana leaves, a pack of marijuana cookies and one plastic container of marijuana hashish were confiscated from Alfred Wayne St. George, 47.

On Thursday evening, the group also nabbed a member of a local drug group in Dipolog City.

Authorities identified the suspect as Julito Abordo Rodriguez a.k.a. “Bayot” or “Sugar Rivera” who was collared in a buybust operation at Purok Red Rose, Barangay Miputak, Dipolog City.

An estimated 5 grams of suspected shabu was confiscated from Rodriguez.

Both suspects have been under intense surveillance months before the operation, authorities said.

Cases for violation Republic Act No. 9165 were filed against the two suspects, who were detained at the Dipolog City Police Station. /atm
