Trillanes says military ‘extremely bothered’ by order for his arrest
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said some members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are “extremely bothered” by the order of President Rodrigo Duterte to have him arrested following the revocation of his amnesty.
“They are bothered, extremely bothered, of this political move by the Commander-in-Chief na isinasalang pa sila sa alanganin (is placing them at risk),” Trillanes said in a press briefing on Thursday.
Asked if he thinks the AFP is in conflict with Duterte’s order, Trillanes said: “Definitely, kasi alam nila na napopolitika ito (because they know this is just political).”
Trillanes also said his friends and some “insiders” in the Department of National Defense gave him documents to prove that he had filed an application for amnesty and that he had admitted guilt for his involvement in the 2003 Oakwood Mutiny and the 2007 Manila Peninsula Siege against the administration of then President and now Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Trillanes however declined to name who inside the DND gave him the documents.

The senator also revealed that some members of the AFP express support to him following the order of President Rodrigo Duterte for his arrest.
“Alam nila napolitika ito… Hindi sila kumportable doon, and they are expressing it. Sinasabi nila through expressions of support since yesterday,” Trillanes said.
