Duterte wonders how Trillanes survived PMA despite ‘low IQ’

President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday belittled one of his fiercest critics, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, saying the former Navy officer has a low intelligence quotient (IQ).

Duterte made the tirades against Trillanes after critics questioned the president’s decision to appoint Chief Justice Teresita Leonardo-De Castro.

Over the weekend, Rep. Gary Alejano, a political party mate of Trillanes, claimed that De Castro’s appointment was a “reward” for being one of the justices who ousted former Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.

“I have yet to hear those guys state something without malice. They always say the worst… People, kagaya nila, just best when they condemn,” Duterte said. “They have nothing to show for their time there except to blabber their mouth.”

Although Trillanes has not made any comment yet about the President’s decision to appoint De Castro, the senator was not spared from the tirades of Duterte.

The President questioned how Trillanes, a cum laude graduate, survived the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “given his character, his mouth, and his low IQ.”

Trillanes has been vocal against Duterte’s policies, including his brutal war on drugs.   /vvp
