Cops arrest five drug suspects in Novaliches

Authorities from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested four women and one man on Sunday night for drug use in Barangay Gulod, Novaliches, Quezon City.

Reports from QCPD on Monday said that before the operation, the Station Drug Enforcement Unit received information from a concerned citizen that there was a drug session inside the house of an alias “Megi.”


When officers responded to the scene, they caught Herminigildo Salazar, 61; Neely Lopez, 65; Laura “Megi” Lagman, 57; Kate Dizon, 31; and Ellamae Soriano, 29, all of Ponciana Street, Barangay Gulod in Novaliches, in possession of at least two grams of suspected shabu.

Police recovered eight sealed and another four unsealed sachets of shabu, two strips of aluminum foil, three rolled foils used as tooters, and four lighters. The confiscated shabu had an estimated amount of P13,600.


According to QCPD, the suspects will face charges for violation of Sections 6, 13, and 15 of Article II of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. /je
