MANILA, Philippines — The Senate continued its investigation on Tuesday into the alleged massive cheating in 2004 involving former President and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Colonel Pedro Sumayo, who was head of the military’s intelligence service, was the first to take the witness stand at the resumption of the joint hearing of the blue ribbon committee and committee of electoral reforms.
It was the first time that Sumayo testified on the issue.
Arroyo is facing charges of electoral sabotage in relation to the 2007 national elections and is seeking house arrest.
