MMDA flags down 2,700 drivers on second day of ‘singles’ ban on Edsa
On the second day of the week-long test run of the high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) traffic scheme on Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (Edsa), over 2,700 motorists have been flagged down by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
A total of 2,715 vehicles have violated the new traffic scheme at the jam-packed Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (Edsa) as of 2:20 pm, according to the MMDA.
The government agency launched the HOV scheme on Wednesday when the MMDA recorded nearly 3,000 violations in the morning.

MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia earlier advised commuters to opt for carpooling with their families or friends to avoid violating the order.
The HOV is targeted to be fully implemented starting August 23.
