Leni exploring possibility of suing ‘lewd’ blogger
NAGA CITY—Vice President Leni Robredo is still exploring with her lawyers the possibility of filing criminal charges against controversial blogger Drew Olivar.
“Many people are encouraging us to file for legal action. We promise to study it with our lawyers because I’m not the only one affected but many other Filipinos who find [Olivar’s] actions lewd,” Robredo said in an interview during the launch of her office’s antipoverty program in Tinambac town, Camarines Sur province.
On Tuesday, Robredo’s legal counsel and spokesperson, Barry Gutierrez, said on Twitter their legal team was looking at the possibility of filing a criminal complaint against Olivar for his expletive-laden rant against the Vice President in a video of him that went viral.
Olivar, along with Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson, also drew flak for what senators said were his “filthy and vulgar” sing-and-dance video promoting federalism.—STEPHANIE FLORIDA
