‘Karding’ now a tropical storm — Pagasa
Weather disturbance “Karding” (international name: Yagi) has intensified into a tropical storm Wednesday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.
The storm packed maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts up to 80 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
It was last monitored 1,220 km east of Basco, Batanes, moving 15 kph east northeast.
Karding will not have a direct effect over the country but it may enhance the southwest monsoon.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and the Zamboanga Peninsula will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
The rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms. /vvp
