Boat trips from Bohol to Cebu, Negros Oriental cancelled due to strong winds
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol – Boat trips from Bohol to Cebu and Negros Oriental have been cancelled on Saturday morning due to high swells and strong winds.
Although no gale warning was issued by the state weather agency Pagasa, SN2 Anwar John Sinajon of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Tagbilaran, said that it was the discretion of the management to cancel their trips.
“The cancelled trips (were) upon the discretion of the management due to big waves and strong winds,” Sinajon told Inquirer.
Pagasa weather advisory said the country would experience unfavorable weather enhanced by the southwest monsoon or habagat.
The OceanJet Ferries cancelled its trips to Dumaguete City, Larena in Siquijor and Cebu City.

Article continues after this advertisementAs of Saturday noon, at least 491 passengers were stranded at the Tagbilaran Port.
In Getafe town, 20 passengers were stranded, while 40 passengers were stranded at the Talibon Port.
Among those stranded passengers were Korean tourist Jerry Kim and his family.
Kim said they had to rebook their tickets and decided to go back to the resort they were staying in Panglao Island.
“The situation is beyond our control. We have no choice,” Kim said.
