Using the power and reach of social media, Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson said she would campaign for a shift to a federal form of government down to the masses.

Uson said she would help President Rodrigo Duterte’s Charter change committee through social media to explain to Filipinos why shifting to federalism would bring change to the country.

In his campaign for the presidency, then Davao City Mayor Duterte said that he would press for a shift to federalism as a way to implement a non-centralization of power in the country

Since Duterte was enjoying high satisfaction and trust ratings, Uson said the Filipino masses should understand why the President is pushing for federalism.

The Consultative Committee (Con-com), which Duterte has created to draft a federal Constitution, had said that it was tapping Uson to help the information dissemination for federalism.

Con-com spokesman Ding Generoso said that more Filipinos would know and understand federalism if Uson were to help them inform and educate the masses.

“She can write about it in her column in the Philippine Star and blog, which has a wide reach. That would help increase awareness,” Generoso told reporters in a text message.
