President Rodrigo Duterte will lead the ceremonial signing of the Bangsamoro Organic Law at Malacañang on August 6, Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Bong Go said on Monday.
Duterte has already signed the legislation, but a ceremony would still be held at the Palace with Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) chief Murad Ebrahim and vice chairman Ghadzali Jaafar.

The law was unanimously ratified by the Senate on July 23 while the House of Representatives ratified it on July 24. The President signed into law on July 26.
The law seeks to replace the existing Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) with a potentially larger, better-funded and more powerful region named Bangsamoro for the minority Muslims. /ee
