Retired principal gunned down in Ecija

SAN JOSE CITY — A 65-year-old retired public school principal was gunned down at her home by two unidentified men in Barangay Calaocan here shortly after 10 a.m. on Sunday (July 22), a belated police report said.

Susan de Leon, a widow, was declared dead on arrival at the Heart of Jesus hospital in this city from multiple bullet wounds.

Her attackers reportedly drove close to her house on a motorcycle and shot her repeatedly at the veranda.

Forensic investigators recovered three spent shells and a slug from a caliber .45 revolver at the crime scene.

Eight hours after the shooting incident, Chief Supt. Amador Corpus, Central Luzon police director, said they have  arrested the main suspect, identified as Melvin Casita, 46.

But the police have yet to determine why the suspect attacked the principal.
