Malacañang on Friday labeled the opposition as “useless” after President Rodrigo Duterte received a high approval and trust rating in the latest Pulse Asia survey.

“Eighty-eight po, highest ever, highest ever. Kaya nga po sorry na lang sila, dream on pa rin sila,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in an interview over state-run Radyo Pilipinas.

Roque was referring to the 88 percent approval rating of Duterte in the June 2018 SWS survey.

Roque also touted Duterte’s war on drugs after being asked about Sri Lanka’s move to “replicate the success” of the Philippines’ anti-narcotics crackdown.

‘Philippines, Province of China’

Meanwhile, the Palace official also reiterated his statement that the opposition was behind the hanging of of “Welcome to the Philippines, Province of China” banners around Metro Manila on Thursday morning.

“Kaya tuloy binasura sila, sinusuka sila ng ating bayan dahil puro katarantaduhan nga nangyayari ‘no, doon sa pinost siguro nila,” he added. — With a report from Daphnie Beltran, INQUIRER.net Intern
