The Supreme Court, sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), has denied the request of the camp of former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos to conduct an investigation on the controversial Laguna outing of its personnel and a member of the revision team of Vice President Leni Robredo.
In a manifestation of grave concern filed on Monday, the Marcos camp cited that Robredo’s revisor Osmundo Abuyuan participated in the out-of-town trip.
The Marcos camp insisted that fraternizing with the revisors of either the Marcos or Robredo camp was prohibited under rules.
According to the manifestation, “Protestant Marcos received information that on Friday, 22 June 2018, there was an ‘outing’ at ‘3J’s Resort’ located at Lot 11, Barangay Pansol, Calamba City, Laguna which was attended by a party revisor for the protestee, Maria Leonor ‘Leni Daang Matuwid’ G. Robredo (‘Robredo’), together with 24 Head Revisors, Alternate Head Revisor, Appraiser, Ballot Box Custodians/Handlers and Chief Tabulator of this Honorable Tribunal.”

However, PET, in a resolution dated June 10, 2018 said investigation on the matter has ben conducted and was already concluded.
“[We] deny the motion to investigate as theTribunal has already commenced and concluded its investigation relative to the subject ‘Pansol outing’,” the PET said.
Robredo’s camp had earlier explained that the Marcos camp is also aware about the Laguna outing and that the revisors of Marcos were also invited to the same trip.
Robredo’s counsel, lawyer Romulo Macalintal, also asked permission from the PET for the release of a closed circuit television (CCTV) footage showing one of Marcos’ supervisors, Roderick Miranda, delivering snacks at the PET’s office days before the outing. /vvp
