LUCENA CITY – A motorcyclist and a 5-year-old boy who was his back rider were injured after their motorcycle figured in a road accident in Candelaria town in Quezon early Saturday.

Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director, said motorcycle driver Novilito Estolano and the boy, Nielven Espenosa, were on the Maharlika Highway in Barangay (village) Malabanban Norte at around 3:50 a.m. when an oncoming truck being driven by Nemar Factor, hit them.

The victims who were thrown off from the motorcycle sustained multiple body and head injuries and were taken to the Peter Paul Medical Center for treatment, police said.

Factor was arrested by the Candelaria police as an investigation of the incident is being conducted.  /muf
