An alleged former Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) member and his uncle were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City on Monday afternoon.
Quezon City Police District director, Chief Supt Joselito Esquivel, told reporters on Tuesday that Kasle Manap, 28 and his uncle Ibrahim Usman, 37, both residents of Luzon Avenue at Barangay Old Balara, yielded P125,000 worth of illegal drugs.
Manap was identified as an MILF member through an ID card but he said he was no longer with the group.
A police report said members of the Batasan police station had been monitoring Manap who was identified as the source of drugs in his barangay.
Surprise discovery
“At the time of the operation, it was not known yet one of the subjects was a member of the MILF,” Esquivel said.
The pair was arrested after they sold an undercover policeman P50,000 worth of drugs at a supermarket on Luzon Avenue.
Seized from the suspects were several sachets of “shabu” with a street value of P125,000.
Esquivel said both men were also tagged in the proliferation of drugs at Barangay Culiat.
