Korean fugitive arrested in Parañaque to be deported
The Bureau of Immigration is set to deport a 33-year-old Korean national wanted for crimes in South Korea.
Lim Jong-keon’s passport has already been canceled by the Korean government and he is now detained at the bureau’s detention facility pending his deportation, according to Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente.
Lim was arrested on June 8 in a condominium in Sucat, Parañaque, by the bureau’s Fugitive Search Unit.
“He is the subject of an Interpol notice, and has been tagged as one of Korea’s most wanted criminals due to the large number of people that he had victimized,” Morente said in a statement.
Immigration spokesperson Dana Krizia Sandoval said that Lim sold nonexistent smart phones and other retail items to Koreans through his web portal and pocketed the money remitted to his account by unsuspecting victims. —Tina G. Santos
