Roque on PCOO boo-boos: Let’s give them slack

Let he who has not erred cast the first stone. Malacañang appealed for the public’s understanding following two recent blunders committed by the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) in its social media posts.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque defended the PCOO from the criticism and bashing of netizens who either called out the agency for the mistakes, or made fun of the boo-boos.

“Let he who has not erred cast the first stone. This may not be the first, but come on, let’s give them slack,” he said in a press briefing on Monday.

On Wednesday, the PCOO referred to Norway as “Norwegia” in a post announcing President Rodrigo Duterte’s conferment of the Order of Sikatuna on outgoing Norwegian Ambassador Erik Forner.

The following day, the agency drew flak anew for misstating the name of the late National Security Adviser Jose Roilo Golez as “Rogelio.” Julie M. Aurelio
