NDRRMC says Aghon affected at least 19,350 people as of May 27

MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Aghon (international name: Ewiniar) affected 19,373 people, including seven who were reported injured, as of May 27, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) said Monday.
In a situational report, the NDRRMC explained that the latest total count comprises 8,465 families in 158 barangays in Luzon and Visayas.
The government said most affected individuals, or 10,349, were in the Bicol Region, 5,970 in Mimaropa, and 2,026 in Eastern Visayas. It added that the seven people who were reported injured due to Aghon were from the Bicol Region.

Tagged as “displaced” were 5,343 people, with 2,162 of them temporarily living in evacuation centers and 3,181 staying outside evacuation centers, based on the May 27 situational report.
The NDRRMC said it had not received any report of fatalities, missing persons, or Aghon’s damage to agriculture and infrastructure as of Monday.
It was noted, however, that P1,909,962.5 worth of food packs had already been distributed to affected families.
