MANILA, Philippines — Tropical cyclone wind Signal No. 2 remains raised in parts of Isabela and Aurora as Typhoon Aghon (international name: Ewiniar) moves northeastward over the Philippine Sea.

Aghon was last spotted over the coastal waters of Casiguran, Aurora, according to the latest typhoon advisory of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa),

It is moving northeastward at 10 kilometers per hour (kph), carrying a maximum sustained winds of 140 kph and gustiness of up to 170 kph.

Signal No. 2 (gale force winds with minor to moderate threat to life and property) is hoisted in the following areas:

Luzon

  • southeastern Isabela (Dinapigue, Palanan)
  • northern Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran)

Meanwhile, Signal No. 1 (minimal to minor threat) is raised in:

Luzon

  • northeastern and southern Isabela (Divilacan, San Mariano, San Guillermo, Jones, Echague, San Agustin, Ilagan City, Benito Soliven, City of Cauayan, Maconacon, Angadanan, Naguilian)
  • eastern Quirino (Maddela, Nagtipunan, Aglipay)
  • southern Nueva Vizcaya (Alfonso Castaneda)
  • rest of Aurora
  • northern Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta, Real) including Polillo Islands
  • northwestern Camarines Norte (Paracale, Jose Panganiban, Vinzons, Capalonga), including Calaguas Islands
