MANILA, Philippines — Some workers from the People’s Television Network (PTV) have expressed support for their former General Manager Analisa Puod.

In a statement on Monday, the PTV Employees Association (PTEA) said Puod was ousted.

“PTEA strongly supports Network General Manager Puod because of her clear vision for the TV station, hardworking attitude, capacity to network with relevant organizations and institutions that can help PTV, and unyielding stand against corruption and abuses in the service,” said the union.

“PTEA expresses hope that Malacanang, through the PCO (Presidential Communications Office), will recall its decision to replace Puod with Toby Nebrida, who is currently holding an appointment as Director IV at the Department of Migrant Workers,” the group added.

According to the PTEA, the network could run more programs under Puod’s watch, reducing the network’s reruns.

She was also able improve working conditions in PTV, they noted.

“Network General Manager Analisa Puod works on uplifting the work condition and status of benefits of all PTV-4 regular and contractual employees, which includes the 20-year delayed reorganization and regularization of employees,” said the PTEA.
