MANILA, Philippines?Health authorities on Friday called on those who suffered minor injuries caused by firecrackers to consult a doctor despite the seeming harmlessness of their wounds.
?Even if their injuries are minor abrasions, it would be good to have these looked at,? Health Undersecretary Mario Villaverde said at a news conference.
This is to ensure that the injuries would not develop into anything serious and even life-threatening, he said.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said all those who suffered firecracker injuries should get antitetanus shots.
?Tetanus could lead to death,? Duque warned. Norman Bordadora
