MANILA, Philippines?Sen. Panfilo Lacson said he will reveal on Tuesday the ?truth? about the murders of Salvador ?Bubby? Dacer and his driver, Emmanuel Corbito, in November 2000, as well as in other cases allegedly involving deposed President Joseph Estrada.
Interviewed Monday over dzBB radio, Lacson said that his second privilege speech at the Senate would not be completely against Estrada.
In his first privilege speech last week, the senator accused Estrada of being involved in strong-arm deals, illegal gambling and smuggling.
?This is a disclosure of information and the truth?not only about the Dacer-Corbito case but of other cases that the former president was previously alleged to be involved,? said Lacson.
Last week, Lacson said he was still deciding whether or not to include in his speech information on the missing Edgar Bentain.
Bentain was said to be the source of a videotape that showed Estrada, who was then vice president, playing high stakes baccarat in a casino in Manila in 1998.
Lacson said Monday that he was carefully writing his speech as it contained a lot of sensitive information.
?I am trying to be careful in trying to balance the truth and the welfare of other people who may not be involved,? he said in Filipino.
Meanwhile, the lawyer of the Dacer family Monday vouched for the credibility of a witness who claimed she saw Lacson, who was then PNP chief, in a heated argument with Dacer one week before the PR man was abducted and killed in 2000.
Lawyer Demetrio Custodio downplayed Lacson?s suggestions that Lymith Bagual had been convinced to testify against him as part of alleged efforts of Sen. Manuel Villar to build a murder case against Lacson.
?The witness was questioned by our lawyers. It appears that she knows what she?s talking about,? Custodio said Monday in a news conference at the office of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC).
