Sleepless in La Loma
Our street – Baco Street in Barangay Salvacion, La Loma, Quezon City – used to be a peaceful place until some barangay officials started engaging in cockfighting. Because they take care of a lot of game fowls, the street has become very noisy, with chickens cackling in the wee hours of the morning and practically the whole day. We cannot sleep and despite complaints, the situation remains the same because the barangay officials are the proponents and therefore ignore the complaints. This is causing too much stress to people who need peace and quiet.

I am not a permanent resident of Barangay San Juan, Don Mariano Subdivision in Cainta, Rizal, but I have observed that there is nobody cleaning the place regularly, especially the canals which are clogged, thus leading to floods. Where are the elected local officials. Is cleanliness not a priority?

One-way street parking: Left or right?
In Binondo, it is prohibited to park on the left side of a one-way street. Shouldn’t they ban parking on the right side instead as per international traffic rules for left-hand drive vehicles? This may lead to an accident. I hope the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau can look into this.

Street kids sleep in front of terminals
Every day, I see street children sleeping on the island on Edsa Cubao in front of Victory Liner and Baliwag Transit terminals. Calling on DSWD or the Quezon City government.
