MANILA, Philippines--A second-year law student of Ateneo de Manila University was seriously wounded after four fellow law students attacked him Friday evening in Makati City.
Senior Supt. Cedrick Train said the 29-year-old victim, Don Alberto Philippe Pangcog, was in front of his house in Palma St., Barangay Poblacion around 10:40 p.m. when four men appeared and hit him with clubs.
Train said Pangcog tried to fight back but withdrew when one of the attackers drew a pistol and shot him.
The victim, who sustained a gunshot wound on his leg and lacerations on his head, is now being treated at the Makati Medical Center.
Pangcog told the police that those who attacked him were Brian Magno and Randy Echaus, both students of Ateneo de Manila Law School, and Mark Magno and Carlos Lim, law students of Lyceum of the Philippines University.
Brian Magno was invited by the police Saturday morning for questioning.
Train said that according to initial investigation of the police, the incident stemmed from a “fraternity squabble.”
