MANILA, Philippines – The police force of the country’s financial capital is the best in Metro Manila, according to top police officials.
The award was handed to the city’s chief of police, Senior Supt. Gilbert Cruz, by National Capital Region Police Office Director Geary Barias at Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City, in connection with the celebration of the 13th Police Community Relations Month.
“Our police are truly the pride of Makati,” Mayor Jejomar Binay said as the Makati Police Department was adjudged “Best Police Station” in the NCR.
“The city government will continue to give them its support to ensure that we have the best protective services in the country,” he said, citing the city government’s financial contributions to the police force.
Incentives
The policemen and women of Makati are among the most pampered in the region, with incentives like a P2,500-3,000 monthly allowance, free dental care, and English proficiency classes at the University of Makati.
The city government has also donated new patrol vehicles and motorcycles to the police department.
