US atty gen collapses during speech

WASHINGTON – (UPDATE) US Attorney General Michael Mukasey collapsed late Thursday while delivering a speech in the US capital and lost consciousness, ABC News reported.

Paramedics rushed Mukasey, 67, for treatment to the George Washington University Hospital, US media reported.

Mukasey became attorney general in September 2007, replacing the scandal-plagued Alberto Gonzales.
