ISLAMABAD -- A moderate earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale was felt in northwest Pakistan Saturday but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, an official said.
Tremors were felt in the northwestern city of Mansehra and the capital Islamabad at 8:55 am (0255 GMT), seismological department official Mohammad Akram told Agence France-Presse.
The earthquake's epicenter was located about 440 kilometers (273 miles) north of Peshawar in the mountains of Tajikistan, he said.
