TAGUM CITY, Philippines -- The intensified police operations against drug syndicates in Davao del Norte yielded four armed suspects in Panabo City on Friday, said a report reaching the provincial police office here on Saturday.
The report identified those arrested as Macver, 29, and Jayson, 20, both surnamed Maug; Gary Gualberto, 33; and Arnel Calvalio, 44.
The report said elements of the 1101st provincial mobile group raided the lair of the suspects, who allegedly belong to a Panabo-based drug syndicate, in Barangay Cagangohan on the strength of a warrant issued by Judge Danilo Belo of the regional trial court here.
The suspects had been under surveillance for days due to their activities, the report said.
During the raid, the suspects yielded various types of firearms, including handguns, marijuana and other types of drugs and drug paraphernalia., the report said.
The suspects did not resist arrest and surrendered after police ringed their hideout, the report said.
"The suspects were caught totally off-guard and overwhelmed by the swift operation," the report added.
