MANILA, Philippines ? Roger Dominguez, one of the suspected leader of a car theft syndicate, was arrested Thursday in Quezon City, according to the police.
Dominguez, brother of Raymond Dominguez who was earlier charged with car theft with homicide, was apprehended by the Quezon City anti-carnapping unit after he was flagged down for violating traffic rules.
Dominguez reportedly tried to pass himself off as a member of the Philippine National Police, but was recognized by the arresting officer as the man wanted for a series of car robberies in Metro Manila.
Chief Superintendent Benjardi Mantele, director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), said Dominguez is now is their custody.
The Dominguez brothers are allegedly behind the death of car dealer Venson Evangelista, who was abducted and killed last month.
The brothers have faced at least 28 criminal cases in various courts in Bulacan and Pampanga since 2007.
