MANILA, Philippines?President Benigno Aquino has ordered the convening of an advisory council that the government peace panels can consult in the course of negotiating agreements with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and with the Communist Party of the Philippines.
Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Teresita Deles, in an interview with government-run radio station dzRB on Saturday, said the council would include representatives from Congress, retired Supreme Court justices and framers of the 1987 Constitution.
Deles added that representatives from local government units and former chief negotiators would also be in the council.
?Well, one thing we learned from the past is that we are striving to? as much as possible, it will not only be the whole executive branch that will be in agreement,? Deles said.
