DAVAO CITY, Philippines—Officials in the provinces of Davao del Sur and Davao Oriental promised to deliver votes and help Gilbert Teodoro, standard bearer of the Lakas-Kampi-CMD, win in the upcoming national elections on May 10.

In Davao del Sur, an estimated 90,000 people will vote for Teodoro, according to Representative Franklin Bautista of the province’s second district.

“We’re pushing very hard for Gibo in Davao del Sur,” Bautista said.

The province has a voting population of 140,000.

Teodoro visited the province for a motorcade Saturday, where he was met by local officials and mayors.

Among the mayors who vowed support for Teodoro in the province were John Harvey Johnson of Don Marcelino town, Mayor Jerry Cawa of Sarangani town, Antonio Razonable of Padada, Jess Lumanog of Magsaysay, Jaime Caminero of Kiblawan, Arsenio Latasa of Digos City, Benjamin Bautista Jr. of Malita, and Rudy Mariscal of Sta. Maria.

These mayors said they are voting for Teodoro because of his platform, “doable” programs and a campaign free from gutter politics.

“We believe that of all the candidates, Gibo will make the best out of the Philippines because of his platform of governance,” Johnson said.

Bautista also revealed that “political operators” of other presidential bets have been trying to ask him to abandon support for Teodoro, but he rejected this.

Meanwhile, in Davao Oriental, local officials have vowed to help Teodoro gain 100,000 votes.

“We believe in Gibo’s competence, integrity and his platform of governance which is what exactly what our country needs,” Representative Thelma Almario of the province’s second district said.

Teodoro arrived here late Saturday afternoon for a 500-vehicle motorcade around the city. The motorcade will end at the Rizal Park for a concert.

Teodoro will also attend the birthday party of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, the Name above Every Name on Sunday.
