MANILA, Philippines -- A spokesman of the Nacionalista Party has dropped hints about the person Senator Manuel Villar Jr. has picked as his vice presidential bet for the 2010 elections.
Adel Tamano, one of the party?s spokesmen, said on Monday that Villar?s running mate possessed the "3M" qualities -- "maganda" (beautiful), "matalino" (intelligent), and "maka-kalikasan" (pro-environment).
"Now, I have to start becoming conversant on environmental issues," Tamano said.
Tamano, however, refused to name Sen. Loren Legarda as Villar?s pick, saying he had not been authorized to make any announcements yet. "Wala ho akong pahintulot (I have no authority)," said Tamano.
Legarda has been known for her environmental advocacies and has expressed plans to run for vice president in 2010.
