MANILA, Philippines ?Vice presidential aspirant Senator Manuel Roxas II said on Friday that he saw an easy win against President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for the second highest post in the land come 2010, as the Liberal Party stressed anew that it was going to be a battle between "good and evil."

"Eh di mapapahaba ang honeymoon ko dahil lalong mapapadali ang aking kandidatura [My honeymoon will be longer because my candidacy will be an easy one]," Roxas said, when sought for his reaction to the suggestion that Arroyo run for vice president in 2010.

"Bakit naman kakatakutan yun eh yung tinatayuan namin yung matuwid. Sila naman talaga yung sumisimbolo ng kabaluktutan [Why will we be afraid when we are standing on the right path. They are the ones who symbolize corruption]," he added.

Quezon Representative Danilo Suarez suggested Thursday that Arroyo run for vice president in 2010 to push for "fiscal reforms and crucial legislation."

He added that Arroyo would be an "asset" to anyone who would become president.

Former Senator Franklin Drilon of the Liberal Party said that should Arroyo run for vice president, it would be a "good fight."

"Malinaw na magiging issue rito kung sino ang tama at mali; sino ang marumi at malinis [It is clear that the issue here will be who?s right and wrong; clean and corrupt]; good versus evil," he said.

Drilon said that the Senators Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III and Roxas tandem in 2010 has the advantage over other candidates as early as this time.

He said that Aquino has over 50 percent support from the public.

"Never in the history of politics in our country have we seen this kind of support," Drilon said.

Meanwhile, Aquino said support for the Liberal Party was expected to balloon as election neared.

Several more candidates and government officials expressed their support for the Aquino-Roxas tandem.

On Friday, several officials took their oaths as new members of the Liberal Party at its headquarters in Cubao, Quezon City. They are Pangasinan 2nd District Representative Victor Agbayani and North Cotabato 2nd District Bernardo Pinol, among others.

"Sample pa lang itong araw na ito [This day is just an example," Aquino said. "Abangan niyo ang susunod na kabanata. Siguro bandang Enero sa Araneta Center na hihiramin namin [Wait and see for the next chapter. Maybe in January, we will rent the Araneta Center]."
