MANILA, Philippines—Acting Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera appointed a new head of the Department of Justice's Task Force on Anti-Illegal Drugs following the suspension of its chief.
In her order, the new chair of the task force is Assistant Chief State Prosecutor Severino Gana replacing Senior State Prosecutor Philip Kimpo.
Kimpo, along with Chief State Prosecutor Jovencito Zuno and State Prosecutor John Resado, were suspended for 90-days by the Presidential Anti-Graft Commission for his refusal to prosecute Jorge Joseph, Joseph Tecson and Richard Brodette.
Meanwhile, Gana said there would be a reorganization of prosecutors who are members of the task force before the end of the month.
