MANILA, Philippines -- A sudden downpour late Tuesday afternoon caused heavy traffic in major roads across Metro Manila, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.
As of 7:15 p.m., the MMDA Metrobase reported that heavy traffic on the southbound side of EDSA, from Monumento to Muñoz, due to waist-deep floods in the area. Although floodwaters have subsided, the volume of cars remained heavy.
Traffic is also heavy in both directions on Quezon Avenue, while traffic on EDSA-Ayala Avenue is moderate, the MMDA Metrobase said.
Traffic is also moderate northbound on EDSA, from Roxas Boulevard to Taft Avenue, while traffic is slow-moving from Magallanes to Guadix, and from White Plains to Balintawak, the MMDA Metrobase said.
The MMDA Metrobase reported that floodwaters have subsided across Metro Manila except along N. S. Amoranto Avenue corner Araneta Avenue, which still prevent all types of vehicles from passing.
