MANILA, Philippines -- Unidentified men kidnapped the daughter of a retired US Marine in Tagaytay City on Sunday evening and are demanding P3 million for her release, police said.

At around 8 p.m., the suspects barged into the home of ex-serviceman Ver Loyola in Kaybagal South village, and seized him and his daughter, Cristina, said Senior Inspector Pamela Helaga, spokesman of the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) police.

The suspects used the family car, a white Toyota Corolla sedan with license plate TTV-759 as their getaway vehicle, Helaga said in a text message to reporters on Monday.

The elder Loyola was later released, after which the suspects demanded P3 million for his daughter's release, the police official said.
