MANILA, Philippines ? A policeman was charged with robbery Friday morning after he was positively identified by his victims as one of the men who hijacked a truck containing P1.8 million worth of Purefoods products Monday.
Police Officer 1 Pio Cervantes, detailed with the Eastern Police District Support Group, was arrested Thursday afternoon by Pasig City police, Senior Superintendent Francisco Uyami, city police chief said.
Cervantes was identified by Mario Cunanan and his two helpers as one of the men who hijacked their truck on Monday night as it was traversing F. Legaspi St. in Pasig City.
