MANILA, Philippines -- A top executive of US call center operator Convergys is set to visit the country next week to inspect some of the company's facilities here.

Andrea Ayers, Convergys' new president for customer management services, will be touring the company's six call centers in Metro Manila. She will also be attending strategic planning sessions with local executives.

Convergys posted $716.4 million in first quarter revenues, its offshore call center operations making up for declines in its business in the US.

Customer management services, largely based in offshore sites like the Philippines, are the biggest revenue driver for the Cincinnati, Ohio-based firm accounting for $476 million.

Convergys operates 85 contact centers worldwide. In the Philippines, the company is one of the biggest industry players with more than 13, 000 workers. The company recently opened its ninth facility in Bacolod (Negros Occidental). Its other facilities are located in Manila and Cebu.

She also currently heads the company's new Relationship Technology Management (RTM) business, which is focused on the development of IT-based solutions that improve agent-customer interaction.
