ZAMBOANGA CITY – Security had been tightened here on Monday as the 96 Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) captured in the aftermath of the 2013 siege were expected to arrive from Manila after having been freed from detention in Taguig City.

Sr. Supt. Allan Nazarro, the city police director, said authorities would be escorting the freed MNLF men to their places of origin after arriving here anytime this Monday.

“Those involved in the plan are the Western Mindanao Command, Task Force Zamboanga, the Police Regional Office 9 and the Zamboanga City Police Office,” Nazarro said.

The release and return of the 96 freed detainees will be handled and facilitated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.            /kga
