DAVAO CITY — President Rodrigo Duterte made a surprise visit to Barangay Bucana here early Sunday and chatted with the village’s residents, Special Assistant to the President Christopher Go.

In a Facebook post, Go said the President also provided financial help to unspecified number of residents in the village, where a large number of informal settlers reside, during the 5:00 a.m. visit.

But Go said there was nothing new with the President’s visit.

“We have been doing this during the past 20 years or so, going around to give pieces of advice, assistance and to mingle with the people,” he said.
