Two men were arrested in Caloocan City after allegedly beating up and stabbing hotel employees in a street brawl over a bill dispute, police said.

One of the suspects, Jimmy Nuñez, is on the city’s payroll as driver for Caloocan Rep. Dale Malapitan, whose father Oscar is city mayor.

Nuñez, 26, Orlado Orlanda, 28, and John-john Tabon, of legal age, will  face charges of attempted homicide and slight physical injuries after injuring two hotel employees and another guest.

In a report to Senior Supt. Jemar Modequillo, Caloocan police chief, the three suspects were having a drinking session in a restobar in Chill Hotel along Gen. Pio Street, Barangay 78, when they got into an argument with one of the hotel’s supervisors, Joel Mañago, over their unsettled videoke bill.

Nuñez allegedly bragged that he was Malapitan’s driver before punching Mañago twice in the face, prompting the guards and another supervisor, Emeterio Santos, to chase them out the hotel. —KRIXIA SUBINGSUBING
