The camp of Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno expressed dismay on Tuesday over what it described as old issues raised during the impeachment proceedings being tackled before the House committee on justice.

Josa Deinla reacted in an interview with Radyo Inquirer 990AM.

One of the issues raised during Monday’s hearing was the exclusion of then Solicitor General Francis Jardeleza in 2014 during the nomination for the vacant post of associate justices by the Judicial and Bar Council, which Sereno chaired.

But Deinla said the issues brought up Monday had already been resolved and that they had already “moved on.”

(They have already resolved those issues; they have moved on already. That is why we are so sad that they continue to reminisce on this issue, still there is bitterness in their feelings and they cannot leave it behind, instead they keep on recalling those issues)

The spokesperson said that bringing up the old issues against the Chief Justice was not enough to strengthen the impeachment bid against her. /jpv
