An Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) has been affecting Southern Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao, the state weather bureau said on Monday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the ITCZ would bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and possible occasionally heavy rain and thunderstorm over the Visayas, Bicol region, Caraga, Northern Mindanao and Zamboanga Peninsula.

Pagasa said it was also monitoring a tropical depression east of extreme Northern Luzon. It is still outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) and not affecting the country.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies except for isolated light to occasionally heavy rain and thunderstorms.

The weather bureau said light to moderate winds blowing from the Northeast to Southeast would prevail over Luzon and coming from the southwest to west over the Visayas and Mindanao.

The coastal water across the entire archipelago will be slight to moderate, Pagasa added. CBB
