DID YOU KNOW: Black Nazarene

/ 12:03 AM January 09, 2017

The annual Feast of the Black Nazarene commemorates the first procession that transferred the life-size Black Nazarene statue from a church in Intramuros to Minor Basilica in Quiapo on Jan. 9, 1767. Last year, the procession traced a 7-kilometer route from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church. More than 1.5 million devotees joined the procession that lasted 20 hours. —MARIELLE MEDINA, INQUIRER RESEARCH
