Duterte to lead groundbreaking of hydroelectric power plant

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – President Duterte is traveling to Bukidnon Friday to lead the 2 p.m. groundbreaking ceremony for the 10.6-megawatt Pulanai hydroelectric power plant.

The Pulanai plant, owned and operated by Repower Energy Development Corp., is one of the power-generation facilities that will be constructed with the approval of the Department of Energy (DOE). It will rise in Zone 11, Hangaron, Barangay Lumbayao in Valencia City.

According to the DOE in its website, the Pulanai facility is among the hundreds of hydroelectric power projects that were approved by the agency in 2016.

DOE said the Pulanai project is “compliant with the work program and posting for performance bond.”
