/ 12:35 AM December 23, 2015

MOTORISTS passing through Roxas Boulevard today should brace for heavy traffic as the Metro Manila Film Fest (MMFF) will be holding its annual parade of stars.

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Traffic Discipline Office head Cris Saruca said they were expecting thousands of spectators to watch the event since this year’s MMFF was one of the most star-studded.

“We are considering this one of the biggest film festivals because of the number of big stars who are [participating],” Saruca said, adding that he was referring in particular to the “AlDub” (Alden Richards-Maine Mendoza aka Yaya Dub) love team.

According to Saruca, the entire southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Edsa Extension to South Drive will be closed to traffic starting at 3 p.m. today.

The parade will start on Coral Way, near the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City at 1 p.m., then make its way to J.W. Diokno toward Edsa Extension. It will end at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.

Saruca said those planning to take the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard would be rerouted to P. Burgos and T.M. Kalaw.

According to the Manila Police District, the southbound lane of Bonifacio Drive and Roxas Boulevard from Anda Circle to P. Ocampo Street will be closed from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The MPD’s traffic bureau said motorists traversing the southbound of Bonifacio Drive may take Anda Circle toward Soriano Avenue and Intramuros.

Those headed for Roxas Boulevard from T.M. Kalaw Street should turn left on M.H. del Pilar then left to Roxas Boulevard. With Aie Balagtas See
